Start with a conversation, not a sales pitch

Twenty minutes with Lars Fischer, and by the end of the call you will have a clear answer on whether we are the right partner for you. If we are not, you will hear it at the first meeting.

Who you will be talking to

Lars takes every first call

“I am the one who has to answer for whatever I promise you in that first meeting. It keeps the promises realistic.”

The first conversation is about your setup today and what keeps playing up. Talk technically if you like. Lars trained as a software engineer at DTU and spent over ten years selling software to the shipping industry, so he should be able to follow most of it.

How it works

Four steps from first call to first working day

Step 1

A conversation

Twenty minutes on what you run today, what breaks, and who currently fixes it.

Same week
Step 2

A closer look, if the job needs one

Most of the time the first conversation is enough for us to quote from. For projects where the estimate has to be accurate, one of our support consultants joins a second call and goes through your current setup in detail.

Only for projects
Step 3

A written proposal

Scope, what is included, what is not, and the price. One page, no annexes.

Often the same day
Step 4

Getting started

We document your setup, take over from your current provider, and you meet the people who will answer the phone from now on.

Two to four weeks
Pricing

How we price the work

Every setup is different, so the number comes after we have talked about yours. The way we get there is always the same, and there are three ways we charge.

IT Management (ongoing IT operations)

A fixed monthly fee set by the volume of IT work your setup generates. We agree a number of hours per month at a reduced rate, and anything beyond that is billed at our standard hourly rate. The fee is quoted monthly and invoiced quarterly, so unused hours carry over inside the quarter.

For most of our customers, IT Management lands somewhere between ten and fifteen percent of what a full time IT hire would cost. You get a team rather than one person, and the cost follows the work rather than a salary.

Projects

A fixed price agreed before we start, based on the scope in the proposal. If the scope changes, we agree the change before doing the work.

Occasional help

An hourly rate for the times you need a hand without an agreement in place. Complete freedom, at a slightly higher rate. Move to a monthly agreement if the need becomes more regular.

Fit

Are we a match?

We are a good fit if
You want to know the name of the person who answers
Your business stops when your systems stop
You want both a ticket number and a person who takes responsibility for it
You need an IT department, or a partner for the one you already have
You need someone who will come to you when remote is not enough
We are probably not a fit if
You need support in languages other than Danish and English
You are looking for the cheapest hourly rate on the market
You need cover at nights and weekends
You want everything routed through a procurement portal with no direct contact
You prefer talking to a robot
In their words

We have enjoyed a very positive and stable working relationship with our previous partner, Nordic IT, and we are very much looking forward to building on that strong foundation together with you.

Jan wrote to us when Combiship moved its IT operations over to Nautic IT. Everyone at Nautic IT, founders, support team and consultants alike, previously worked together at Nordic IT.

I don't want to think about IT. I told them what we needed and they handled it. Email, Microsoft 365, security. I've known these guys a long time so there were no surprises. They pick up the phone, and they'll tell you when something's a bad idea rather than just doing it and sending an invoice.

Translated from Danish:

We moved to new premises, and honestly I wasn't looking forward to the IT side of it. It took a couple of weeks to get everything up and running, but my people were out on jobs in the meantime, so we barely lost any time. There are twenty of us and not one of us knows anything about IT. Now I just ring Lars when something plays up, and if it can't be sorted over the phone, someone comes out here.

Already have a provider?

Most of our customers did. We handle the handover and the documentation, and we time the switch around your notice period, so it costs you a conversation, not a project.
